Aluminum recycling is the process by which scrap aluminum can be reused in products after its initial production. It plays an important role in aluminum industry, since it is a more energy- and cost-friendly way of aluminum production. According to statistics, one third of the aluminum is produced by aluminum recycling worldwide. 
The recycling process involves pretreatment, re-melting & holding, refining and casting, with aluminum ingot as final product.
Processes such as re-melting, holding and refining, which are mentioned above, are done in principle in refractory lined furnace. The wearing condition for such furnace includes the infiltration of molten metal, reduction-reaction of metal vapor consisting of aluminum, magnesia or other alloy, thermal shock caused by charging and discharging operation, and erosion caused by charging scrap.
Yanmu offers series of refractory products for aluminum recycling & refining furnace such as reverberatory furnace, melting & holding furnace, double chamber furnace and so on and so forth. Lining of the furnace is predominantly high-alumina forming refractories. In some part, where erosion is strong, Si3N4 bonded SiC refractory products can be applied. Chamotte castable and aluminum silicate fiberboard form the safety and insulation layer.
